Junior Accountant jobs in United Arab Emirates

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. Junior Accountant needs to have an analytical mind and fantastic organizational skills. Junior accountants are expected to be detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

To ensure success, Junior accountants should be critical thinkers, proficient in math and accurate with a solid understanding of account and financial reporting principles and practices. Top candidates will have outstanding report writing skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant's day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long-term success.

1. Analyze financial information and prepare balance sheets.
2. Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets.
3. Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, UAE regulations.
4. Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries.
5. Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check, and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
6. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
7. Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
8. Prepare income tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
9. Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
10. Complete end of month close procedures.
11. Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
12. Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
13. Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
14. Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
15. Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
16. Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
17. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
18. Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
19. Assist with other accounting projects.

1. Odoo experience would be preferable.
2. Excellent organizing abilities.
3. Great attention to detail.
4. Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
5. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
6. Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP).
7. Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
8. BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field.
