Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects adhere to established quality standards and meet regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities

1. Supports the Project Manager as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Frequently interfaces with upper-level management and client personnel.
2. Follows up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
3. Monitors contractor performance pertaining to schedule and conformance to plans and specifications.
4. Supports Project Manager in overseeing of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
5. Oversee time and cost budgets inclusive of initial set up with the direction of the senior project management team.
6. Demonstrative capability in project controls (scheduling, cost reporting, forecasting, variation management etc).
7. Monitoring and evaluating project performance in line with time and budgetary constraints.
8. Communicating project performance results with the project management team.
9. Managing changes in project processes to resolve identified shortcomings in operational methods.
10. Plan and coordinate the resources for each job including inputs from other offices, sub consultants and other suppliers, and manage all jobs to deliver them on time, within the budget.
11. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate to support the Project Manager.

1. Scheduling: Helping create and maintain project schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
2. Deadline Management: Managing and monitoring the progress of deadlines, ensuring that tasks are completed within the allocated timeframes.
3. Document Organization: Maintaining accurate and organized records for project documentation, including contracts, reports, meeting notes, and budgets.

4. Risk Management

1. Identifying Risks: Assisting the project manager in identifying potential risks to the project, such as delays, budget overruns, or resource shortages.
2. Mitigation Plans: Helping develop and implement strategies to mitigate or avoid risks, ensuring smooth project execution.

5. Technical Skills and Industry Knowledge

1. Industry-Specific Knowledge: Understanding the industry or field the project is related to (e.g., construction, software, manufacturing) and how to apply project management principles to it.
2. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello, Jira) and other relevant tools like spreadsheets (Excel) to track project progress and tasks.
3. Budget Management: Helping track expenses and ensure the project is completed within the allocated budget.
