As a Content Editor & Strategist at GMOLx, you will play a key role in shaping and executing content strategies across digital platforms for global conferences, sporting events, and community initiatives. This role demands a strong editorial eye, a strategic mindset, and digital fluency, ensuring that content is compelling, on-brand, and aligned with key business objectives.
Your role will involve strategic content planning, ensuring that messaging aligns with brand guidelines while being tailored to the specific tone, style, and format required for each platform, whether it's social media, website copy, press materials, or marketing campaigns.
You will lead content planning, creation, and optimisation, working closely with marketing, communications, creative, and project management teams to deliver impactful storytelling. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and detail-oriented editor who understands audience engagement, brand positioning, and emerging content trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy and Adaptation: Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies that align with each event’s goals and audience, ensuring messaging is optimised for each format
- Content Creation & Management: Write, edit, and optimise high-quality content, including articles, social media copy, scripts, and multimedia assets.
- Content Editing & Editorial Oversight: Review and refine all written content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency. Adapt content to various tones and styles, ensuring messaging resonates with diverse audiences and is suitable for different platforms
- Digital & SEO Optimisation: Tailor content for social media, website, blogs, and email marketing and apply SEO best practices to optimise digital content for search visibility and audience engagement
- Multimedia Content Collaboration: Work with designers, videographers, and social media managers to adapt copy for multimedia formats, including short-form videos, reels, infographics, and live event coverage. Provide editorial input for scripts, captions, headlines, and marketing materials.
- Industry Insights & Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of content trends, digital media innovations, and audience behaviors while continuously refining content strategies to align with changing industry dynamics
- Thought Leadership Positioning: Develop content that enhances the online visibility of spokespeople, partners, and key event stakeholders
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, PR, and event leads to ensure content supports broader campaign objectives
- Agency Management: Work with agency partners and freelancers to ensure the seamless execution of content production workflows
Qualifications
- Based in the UAE or willing to relocate
- A minimum 7+ years’ experience working in content editing, copywriting, or digital content strategy
- Proven track record in brand tone development, storytelling, and adapting content for specific platforms
- Excellent editorial skills, with high attention to detail in grammar, punctuation, and clarity
- Proficiency in English; fluency in Arabic is a plus
- Understanding of the events industry, working with the government sector and global businesses, focused on tech, industrial, mobility, sports, and lifestyle sectors
- Experience with various digital analytics and content management tools
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field
- Ability to manage multiple content streams, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure
- Creative, adaptable, and collaborative, with a strong ability to refine content while maintaining brand integrity
