Sub Editor Freelance

Location: Media City Dubai (Officebased)
Duration: Two weeks

Dazed MENA is seeking a meticulous and experienced Sub Editor to join our team on a freelance basis for two weeks to help finalise our upcoming print issue. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of a bold youth-focused publication that champions creativity and culture in the MENA region.

Responsibilities:

1. Subedit all copy for the upcoming print issue ensuring impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
2. Fact-check content to ensure accuracy and consistency across all articles.
3. Collaborate closely with the Deputy Editor to maintain the Dazed MENA editorial tone and style.
4. Liaise with the Art Director to ensure copy aligns seamlessly with the magazine's visual layout.
5. Manage tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
6. Provide final proofreading and signoff on all pages before printing.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Sub Editor, preferably on print titles.
2. Familiarity with Dazed's editorial tone and the ability to maintain it.
3. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
4. Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
5. Experience using InDesign and CMS tools is highly desirable.
6. Based in Dubai and able to work from the office for the duration of the role.
