The Government Communications Department seeks an incumbent to provide videography, video editing, and motion graphics. To assist the Producer and/or Director Editor in the development of videos and multimedia promotional materials for the University. To capture B-roll footage of University events and activities for publishing on a variety of media platforms. To help and support the publications team with design-related projects.
The Responsibilities
- Identify, complement, and build on the existing unified visual identity that permeates the University's print and web publications.
- Work with the client and University stakeholders to collect content, film events and interviews, and work with production vendors as required.
- Digitize, edit, and mix analog and digital video footage for promotional videos.
- Edit library sound & music in sync to video.
- Prepare video/motion graphics animation and special effects for use in university promotional videos and other multimedia projects.
- Organize and maintain the current library of tapes and stock video footage from which selected clips can be searched, chosen, and edited for individual videos.
- Coordinate closely with the A/V (Media Services) Technicians to provide video footage through original filming or access to university video archives.
- Assist the producer/director in filming on set and operating a second camera.
- Provide some graphics assistance for print publications.
- Assist in the development of promotional CD-ROMs and DVDs.
The Requirements
- Should possess a minimum of 2 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution or a combination of education and experience. Highly computer literate with strong knowledge of PC and Macintosh operating systems.
- Professional experience with industry standard video editing, animation, and graphics design software (Apple Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.).
- Professional experience in operating a digital 4K/HD camera, lighting, gimbal/stabilizer, and audio equipment.
- Experience in multimedia projects creating videos for delivery via web, social media, SSD, etc.
