Job summary
A land surveying firm is seeking a full-time Land Surveyor based in the Western Cape. The role requires approximately 10 years of land survey experience and a valid registration as a Professional Land Surveyor with PLATO. Candidates should exhibit strong proficiency in GPS and CAD software while demonstrating excellent management and communication skills. Responsibilities include building relationships with stakeholders and managing land development applications. This is a high-pressure role demanding professional judgment and integrity in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Approximately 10 years’ land survey experience.
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor with PLATO (valid registration number required).
- Strong proficiency in GPS, CAD software, and general computing packages.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Land Surveyor based in the Western Cape. The candidate must demonstrate sound professional judgment, consistently perform at a high standard under pressure, and uphold integrity in all interactions. They should be able to build strong, productive relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively across interpersonal, written, and verbal channels. Additionally, the candidate must approach negotiations with clear objectives, exhibit political awareness and diplomacy, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks
- Approximately 10 years’ land survey experience
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor with PLATO (valid registration number required)
- Ability to provide valid and current references (from bank or current employer)
- Strong proficiency in GPS, CAD software, and general computing packages
- Experience with land surveying and mapping software including ModelMaker and Survey Maker
- Competent in Sectional Title work
- Established working relationships with the Surveyor General’s Office, including submission of survey records and documentation
- Knowledge of the Land Survey Act 8 of 1997 (as amended) and Sectional Titles Act
- Proven management and administrative capabilities, including team leadership and delegation
- Experience overseeing Land Development Applications in municipal and regulatory environments
- Knowledge of Municipal Land Use Planning By-Laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
Advanced computer literacy (databases, spreadsheets, document management)
