Head of Sales
Emeris consolidates resources and expertise from IIE Varsity College, IIE MSA, IIE-Vega School, and IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management, with a unified approach ensuring a consistent standard of excellence in teaching, learning, and student support.
Emeris, National Office has a vacancies for Sales Operations Managers X2. This position may be based at either our Cape Town, Durban North or Waterfall (Midrand) National Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management of the sales process
- Evaluates previous years sales performance and sets annual targets for the upcoming cycle.
- Designs and implements annual sales plans and campaigns across all campuses.
- Manages sales plans and sales campaigns to take advantage of market opportunities.
- Oversees that formal sales targets are set and that these are translated into individual targets.
- Manages and oversees the quality of all formal sales processes.
- Along with the Head: Student Recruitment ensures that Institute of the Independent Education (IIE) admission policy is implemented and actioned on all campuses.
- Supports Marketing Manager in implementation of advertising and sales across all campuses.
- Conducts staff meetings regularly with the Head: Student Recruitment team to discuss operational performance and business issues.
Strategic Training and Development
- Works with Heads of Sales and Sales Co-ordinator to review and update Undergraduate sales training programmes and portfolio of evidence (POE) for implementation nationally.
- Recruitment of campus sales staff (Student Advisors, Head: Student Recruitment, Marketing Assistants and Call Centre Operators).
- Manages training of new and current sales staff.
- Source additional resources to support training as required.
- Formalise a staff recruitment model that fosters tenure within sales department, including succession planning to Senior Student Advisor and Head: Student Recruitment levels.
Support of Sales Tracking Process
- Implement formal Sales Tracking process for the Undergraduate sales team in order to foster optimal sales performance and accountability within the sales team.
- In conjunction with Sales Co-ordinator, review all formal Sales Tracking Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) documentation for Students Advisors sent by Head: Student Recruitment post their meetings, adjust when and where necessary before final versions are sent to and accepted by Human Resources.
- Attend poor work performance enquiries as company representative.
Managing Stakeholder Relationships
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders when inputs is required particular within marketing portfolios, such as advertising, promotions and public relations.
- Monitor Head: Student Recruitment engagement with school stakeholders.
- Liaise with Training Manager to organise and co-ordinate additional training for sales staff.
- Provide required updates to the Executive: Institutional Advancement and Head of Sales on undergraduate new student sales on a regular basis, making recommendations as and when required.
Reporting
- Monitors and reviews the Head: Student Recruitment production of reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Quality-checks on reporting platforms, analysis of data outputs and make recommendations to Head: Head Student Recruitment team.
Human Capital Management
- Ensures Head: Student Recruitment implements incentives and initiatives in the team to keep them motivated and driven.
- Provides support / guidance to the Head: Student Recruitment and deals with general problems on an ongoing basis and provides advice / support / information.
- Conducts Head: Student Recruitment performance reviews.
- Offers a management presence when on campus.
- Assists Head: Student Recruitment with ad hoc management matters.
Admissions
- Management of funnel report in conjunction with Sales Co-ordinator to ensure admissions are processed timeously and accurately across the funnel.
- Ensure sales teams drive the admissions process with applicants and drive the correct activity throughout the cycle.
Minimum Educational Requirement
- Minimum of an Advanced Diploma / Bachelors Degree (NQF level 7) in Business / Marketing / Public Relations / Communication field. Relevant Post Graduate Qualification - Advantageous.
Minimum Work Requirement
- Minimum of 4 years Sales and Marketing Management Experience.
Special Requirement
- Driver's License and own vehicle.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday : 08:00 -17:00
