Job summary
A public service organization in Cape Town is seeking candidates for the Library Assistant position, available as part-time or full-time. Applicants must possess a Grade 12 qualification, basic computer literacy, and experience in public libraries. Key responsibilities include assisting the public with inquiries, promoting library services, and performing administrative tasks. The salary for this position is R222 028 annually, and candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Qualifications

Library Assistant (Part Time and Full Time)
- Grade 12
- Basic computer literacy
- Experiential knowledge and experience of public libraries
- Registered member of LIASA (if not a member - membership to be obtained within 3 months of appointment)
- An active interest in reading and general knowledge of various subjects
- Successful candidates will be required to work evenings and on Saturdays on a roster basis
- Assisting the public with basic reading and information enquiries
- Assisting with promoting the library service and with outreach activities
- Performing administrative duties
