A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Supply Chain and Costing Specialist for their OTC portfolio.

Plan and co-ordinate all financial matters within the Supply Chain Department to meet company objectives in terms of profitability, cost maintenance, product costing (new and old products), supply chain financial budgeting, reporting and projects ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of data for the optimum functional ability of the purpose which will enable the desired measurements and benefits of these activities to be achieved.

Assist in all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.

Required Learning :

• Relevant Degree – Supply Chain and or Cost Management
• 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Cost management
• Excellent understanding of Supply Chain
• Financial understanding of Oracle and bill of materials (BOM’s)

Key Job Outputs :

• Set up annual / monthly Oracle costing system.
• Oracle Cost Maintenance for OTC Third Party suppliers
• Annual cost of goods (COG) Budgeting Process.
• Ad hoc customer project tasks, including manual costings, tender submissions, reports, analyses etc.
• Costing / inventory valuation compliance – interaction with external and internal Auditors.
• Month End reporting - Exchange rate effect on third party products, sales versus forecast analysis, value streams, stock days forecast method, return material advice (RMA) analysis, Cost savings, Cost master, supply cost management (SCM) dashboard, 3-year sales value / quantity by product.
• Supplier Sales / COG's / Margin analysis.
• Compilation of Department budget.
• Backup for management accountant (MA) for Oracle system updates and maintenance.
• Inventory reporting including :
• Early warning indicator - Weekly / factory back orders
• Monthly sales and operational planning (S&OP) presentation
• Monthly forecast accuracy
• Stock less than 12 months to expiry date
• Average % days in stock
• Monthly out of stock analysis
• Calculation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) levies
• Waste analysis.
• Oversee demand planning and management processes for new and existing products.
• Provide support in developing seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customers reactions to promotions and discounts.
• Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
• Schedule monthly forecast meetings with all customers as required.
• Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
• Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
• Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
• Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
• Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
• Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Manage inventory reporting in line with business requirements and working capital.
• Improve profitability of products by analysing :
• Cost of goods across the supply chain.
• Determining key drivers that could reduce cost.
• Negotiating with 3rd party suppliers with the aim of improving profitability.
• Cross collaboration with procurement to drive availability and lower cost of raw materials.
