Personal Care Worker - Home Care - 6-month placement

About the role: ARRCS are actively sourcing a qualified Personal Care Worker to join our Home Care Team on a full-time, maximum term assignment of 6-months, with a possible extension. Based out of our Darwin office and servicing clients within inner and regional Darwin, your role as Personal Care Worker – Home Care will see you travelling to people's homes and providing care and support within the consumer's home environment.

Tasks include:

1. Undertaking cleaning, bed making, personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and assisting with meals.
2. Assisting with social support, taking consumers to appointments and shopping.

As the ideal candidate, you will bring:

1. Previous experience in either Aged or Disability care.
2. Comfortable travelling to people's homes to provide care.
3. A fully insured and reliable vehicle with full-comprehensive insurance.
4. A caring and understanding approach, with the ability to understand a consumer's care plan and delegated services provided by their My Aged Care funding.
5. A strong customer service attitude and respect.

Skills & experience: To be considered for this role, we do ask that you submit your resume and ensure that you have the following experience:

1. Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care.
2. Preference to have completed the 'Assist Clients with Medication' elective as part of your qualification.
3. A current or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard 3.2.2A.
4. Previous experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting, preferably, however, not essential.
5. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and both verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
7. An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role.
8. Personal registered and insured vehicle.
