We are now looking for a Groundsperson to join us on a permanent basis, working 32.65 hours per week plus one Saturday in three during term time.

The RoleAs a Groundsperson, you will help maintain our extensive school grounds and sports facilities to a high standard.
In this varied role, you will mow grass, apply seed and fertiliser, mark out pitches, and prepare for sporting events by erecting posts, nets and other necessary equipment.
Beyond this, you’ll maintain our all-weather surfaces, carry out regular gardening tasks across the estate, and support seasonal needs such as salt application and snow clearance to ensure safe access around the site.
Additionally, you will:
- Operate a tractor with implements or trailers
- Use tools and machinery such as strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and power washers
- Prepare, maintain, and clean equipment
- Carry out basic machine servicing and mechanical tasks
- Assist with fencing repairs and installations
About YouTo be considered as a Groundsperson, you will need:
- Experience in sports pitch maintenance, renovation and set-up
- The ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Confidence in assessing ground conditions for appropriate work
- Strong time management skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
This role may also be considered for a full-time sports turf operative apprenticeship post. Experience and qualifications are not required for the apprenticeship, but you will need a willingness to learn and ability to work well in a team. A driving licence would be an advantage.
