About the Role:
As a Caretaker in Driffield, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and security of the school premises. You will work closely with the school administration to ensure the facilities are in excellent condition, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for students. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the daily operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities of Caretaker:

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure the school premises are safe and well-maintained.
• Conduct regular inspections of the school buildings and grounds, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensure the security of the school premises, including opening and closing the school, setting alarms, and monitoring access.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the school, including classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for school events and activities.
• Manage and monitor the school's heating, lighting, and ventilation systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers for larger maintenance and repair tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report to the school administration.

Requirements of Caretaker:

• Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating your ability to manage maintenance and security tasks effectively.
• Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, students, and external contractors.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.
• Relevant qualifications or training in facilities management or maintenance (desirable but not essential).

To work with GSL Education as a Caretaker, you will need:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
