Better Living at Thompson House is a 136-bed long-term care home dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care in a supportive and nurturing environment. We focus on enhancing the quality of life for our residents by offering compassionate care that respects their dignity and individuality. Our dedicated team of professionals works together to create a community where residents feel valued, supported, and engaged. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of care delivery.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Behavioural Supports Resource Team Lead (BSRT) to join our team at Thompson House. This full-time position is a unique opportunity to lead the expansion of our Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents.
As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and part of an interdisciplinary team, the BSRT Lead will be responsible for assisting in the overall functioning of the unit, providing holistic care, and supporting both residents and staff. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and modeling strategies and interventions to manage and care for residents with responsive behaviours, using best practices and evidence-based approaches.
In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BSO team, you will collaborate with clinical teams and management to develop and implement educational programs focused on certifications, emergency codes (including Code White), and crisis management protocols. You will also work closely with the new Resident and Family Coordinator on admission and discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing support for residents and their families.
We invite interested candidates to submit their resume in confidence. While we appreciate the interest of all applicants, we will contact only those selected for interviews.
If you are an applicant with disabilities and require accommodations, please let us know at the time of our contact so that we may arrange for their provision.
