Labourer jobs in Canada

Black & McDonald is looking for full time Labourers for our Dartmouth, NS location who will work in HRM and the surrounding area. The Labourers will have basic construction knowledge and be willing to learn new skills. They will report directly to the Lead Hand Labourer. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and preparing a job site
• Loading and delivering materials
• Using a variety of tools and machines such as plate tampers, jumping jacks, core drills, levels, power drills, grinders, saws, etc.
• Installation of conduit, rebar, forms, bases, Sono tubes.
• Assist in watching excavations, including raking, shoveling and misc. tasks.

Work Experience Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience a benefit
• Enthusiastic general laborers with a positive attitude
• Work safely in a construction environment
• Works well in a Team environment
• Someone who can handle the physical demands – lifting 50+ lbs, standing, walking, and bending for long hours
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Drivers License with a clean abstract
• Must be able to get a variety of security clearances

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week (Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work)

Additional pay: Union benefits/ pension
