Job Summary:
The Distribution Operations Supervisor is directly responsible for overseeing warehouse associates supporting Distribution Center Operations. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of inbound and outbound shift operations, including finished goods accuracy and maintaining associated records, coordinating shift job assignments, scheduling of vacation, attendance, and monitoring performance goals for all shift personnel. People management responsibilities include mentoring, coaching, training, developing talent, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. The Distribution Operations Supervisor may operate as the primary site leader when the manager is not available.

Responsibilities
Working hours: 10am-6:30pm (some flexibility is required)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a decision maker and problem solver for the site, making critical decisions to maximize efficiency and troubleshoot issues as they occur.
- Actively coach and provide feedback to leads to support their ongoing growth and development.
- Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation.
- Communicate and enforce safety regulations and company policies to employees.
- Carry out performance evaluations of team members and recommend performance awards or merit increases when appropriate.
- Make hiring recommendations.
- Address performance issues through corrective action and disciplinary processes.
- Prepare daily, quarterly, annual, and long-range performance reports.
- Utilize 5S, Lean, and Continuous Improvement Methodology to identify and implement process improvements.
- Oversee inventory control and reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate logging of inventory transactions.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of departmental goals and activities.
- Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands.
- Recommend solutions to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities serving internal and external customers.
- Effectively manage all shift employees, driving production goals and meeting performance expectations.
- Train and coach on safety, quality, and work processes, upgrading own skills through continued education.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 4-year Bachelor's degree preferred; 2-year College diploma with 10 years' experience in a logistics leadership role will be considered.
- Hands-on experience (3+ years) in Lean Design of Work and Material flow using lean principles.
- Minimum of 5+ years in distribution and/or logistics leadership.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills required.
- Experience in a Lean environment.
- Results-oriented approach with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Ability to create high-performing, self-directed work teams.
- Professional demeanor, leading by example and self-motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with SAP ERP preferred; knowledge of general business software acceptable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day.
