Reporting functionally to the Director, Engineering, Study And Project Management, the Lead Engineer has the expertise and proficiencies specific to Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) solutions throughout the full life-cycle of a major project. The Lead will be accountable to guide the development and implementation of Integrated Digital Delivery standards within Teck’s Projects group and ensure that IDD is leveraged fully to optimize business value and reduce project execution risk across the full project portfolio.

Responsibilities- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Demonstrate strong leadership dedication to a culture of safety and sustainability, and leverage IDD to drive safe and sustainable designs
- Develop the framework for Teck’s IDD related to engineering, construction and procurement and lead its integration into Teck’s project delivery model
- Advise, consult and work closely with each project’s Engineering Manager and Discipline Leads to ensure effective IDD solutions are implemented for project success
- Engage with external service providers to ensure ongoing alignment to Teck’s IDD standards to maximize business value and minimize risk
- Develop and monitor critical metrics and other analytics to enable data-driven project delivery
- Participate and lead IDD-related quality activities for implementation and delivery
- Participate in IDD-related scope writing and review as required
- Provide training for project team members
- Serve as a liaison between the engineering service providers and the project team for IDD-related matters
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field related to the technical expertise required of this position
- Minimum of 10 years direct experience applying Integrated Digital Delivery solutions to major project execution in mining, extractives or other industrial environments
- Applicants need to be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (“EGBC”) as this will be a condition of employment. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Engineering and construction experience on major infrastructure, mining and/or process plant projects
- Demonstrated technical proficiency within the required area(s) of specialty, including proficiency with the ISO19650 standards
- Expertise and knowledge in various design software applications that could include Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, Aveva and others
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and automation tools such as Dynamo / Microsoft Power Automate would be an asset
- Training and experience in project management systems and an understanding of multiple phases of project execution
- Courageous safety leader with understanding of process and occupational health and safety as well as key sustainability drivers
- Previous construction and field experience is preferred
- Experience working collaboratively in diversified teams
- Able to coordinate work efforts and inspire change across different work groups (including consultants and engineering service providers)
- Motivated self-starter, able to work under minimal direction and be able to manage several tasks simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary Range: $132,000 - $163,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
