About this role:
This role creates thought-leading research and guides clients in the Software Engineering and IT application services market with a focus on sourcing practices, especially contracting and negotiations. This role will deliver guidance for our IT Leaders clients via conversations with clients (Inquiry), stage presentations, webinars, and client meetings (both virtual and live). It is important that you have a vision for how the Software Engineering and IT application services market will evolve worldwide (outsourced, nearshore & offshore) and at a regional level.
What you’ll do:
As a Gartner analyst, you will speak to Gartner clients either in a video call, from the stage at a Gartner event, or face-to-face during a sales support visit. In every client interaction, analysts help clients solve difficult sourcing issues, review their documents and service provider proposals, and guide them on best practices that will lead to better outcomes. To support these conversations, you will research markets, practices, and trends, and produce written research for Gartner clients to download and apply.

It helps to be obsessed with your topic! Gartner analysts are correctly viewed as THE experts. This means you need to know your markets, vendors, trends, management practices, etc., and be able to see the forest and the trees. Most Gartner analysts have many years of experience and enjoy solving sourcing problems and helping others. Being able to summarize Gartner advice and confidently respond to client questions on a 30-minute call is a key competency to be successful in this role.
