We're looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Manager of Business Continuity to join our team and lead the charge in building a resilient, future-ready organization. The Senior Manager, Business Continuity is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide business continuity and resilience strategies. This role ensures organizational preparedness for potential disruptions by designing, testing, and maintaining business continuity plans, collaborating with key stakeholders, and aligning strategies with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid role based on our Burnaby, BC (British Columbia) Head Office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our 4567 Canada Way office and/or are not looking to relocate to BC will not be considered for this position.

  • Highly organized and results-driven, skilled in project management, meeting deadlines, and balancing competing priorities in fast-paced environments.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business continuity and resilience framework, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and risk management strategies.
  • Lead business impact analyses (BIA) to assess critical processes, identify potential threats, and establish recovery priorities.
  • Oversee the creation, testing, and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans across departments.
  • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure business continuity strategies support operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and scenario planning exercises to evaluate organizational preparedness.
  • Maintain corporate situational awareness and perform regular risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and ensure BCM plans are updated to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide guidance and training to business units, ensuring teams understand their roles in continuity planning and response.
  • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams during disruptions to minimize impact and ensure a swift recovery.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, proactively adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Report regularly to executive leadership and the Board on business continuity readiness, key risks, and mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with employees across locations and business units to ensure plans and documents are maintained and easily accessible for successful BCM execution.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, risk management, emergency management or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery or risk management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of business continuity and risk management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise-wide continuity strategies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams during crises or major disruptions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Business Continuity (CBCP, MBCI) or Risk Management certification is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.
