Job description
Overview

Carly Rian Group (CRG) is a boutique Management Consulting firm ranked as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and voted best places to work. We have a strong reputation for expertise in Operations Strategy, Process Improvement, and Performance Management. We encourage our consultants to work across industries, and we pride ourselves on being a true meritocracy - rewarding performance in real time through promotions, bonuses, and compensation rather than the outdated annual review process. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team focused on excellence, with professional growth opportunities through to the Partner track that would be hard to match elsewhere.

We are seeking an Executive Management Consultant to be responsible for supporting the firm’s growth objectives via delivery on client engagements, evolving our team, and supporting sales and business development efforts. You will be responsible for the growth of junior-level consultants, through people management or individual mentorship. In addition, you will be responsible for leading and/or collaborating on independent projects that support clients’ needs and the firm’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • A structured approach to problem solving and strong comprehension of business process improvement techniques and problem solving methodologies (E.g, Lean management, Six Sigma, and Activity Based Costing).
  • Build credibility with clients by demonstrating operations strategy knowledge and expertise in a specific industry/domain (preferred industries include financial services, public sector, healthcare, information technology, procurement/supply chain)
  • Lead end-to-end client engagements focused on: analyzing and diagnosing the client’s current state, identifying improvement opportunities based on addressing root causes, and creating business cases and implementation roadmaps to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead engagement teams and work collaboratively with client personnel from assessment through to implementation on a broad range of industry/domain specific initiatives.
  • Manage client teams through the engagement lifecycle leveraging project and change management expertise.
  • Lead engagement teams in the production of client deliverables and present findings to senior client executives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers with key clients.
  • Employ strategies to manage engagement risk and project economics.
  • Present key findings to senior leaders using crisp and meaningful messages specifically tailored for the audience.
  • Support CRG performance management in the role of mentor/coach by guiding employees’ development of critical aptitudes that are aligned with team success.
  • Drive sales and business development through the identification of opportunities with new and existing clients, creating and delivering proposals that accurately pitch the CRG Experience.
  • Link corporate and operational strategies to ensure recommendations are aligned with clients’ overall goals. Consistently leverage expertise in client delivery and business development to drive results.
  • Be a role model and proactive advocate/mentor for CRG values and culture.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Technology or similar is required
  • Minimum 6 years management consulting experience OR minimum 4 years’ experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or professional services environment.
  • Minimum 6 years experience and in-depth knowledge in a specialized industry/domain considered a strong asset (preferred industries include financial services).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Financial industries.
  • Models strong initiative, self starter behavior, consistently looking for ways to drive value and contribute to the team.
  • Strong track record of effectively delivering projects and solutions within a business environment (project management experience should include process improvement, process transformation, business modelling, organizational/functional design).
  • Solid track record of building relationships at all levels in an organization, establishing credibility amongst senior leaders and executives.
  • Proven success contributing to sales and business development opportunities with new prospects and existing clients.
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple projects and assignments, both client facing and internal, leading multiple teams.
  • Highly proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
To align with CRG’s core values, potential candidates must be:
  • Passionate & determined – You challenge yourself and others to aim higher. You are driven to constantly learn, improve, develop and progress.
  • Data-driven & fact-based – You understand what information needs to be collected, based on materiality, when data quality and availability are unclear. You ensure all facts are considered, sourced and accounted for. Your data always supports your decisions; it’s measurable and defendable.
  • Authentic & candid – You are honest and readily take ownership for mistakes. You are always open to communication, including giving and receiving feedback.
  • Crisp & meaningful – You can remove complexity to articulate ideas and messages in a clear, logical manner.
  • Commitment to quality & excellence – You demonstrate a relentless commitment to producing high quality deliverables. Your work requires little review before sending.
In addition, these qualifications are preferred but not required:
  • MBA
  • Data modelling and business modelling capabilities
  • Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt/Green Belt)
