Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Head of Risk to join our team!
Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the Risk Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Risk section within the program.
The Risk Manager will develop the Risk Management Plan and associated procedures, tools, and dashboards for the program in line with the Portfolio Risk Management Plan and procedures in place.
Additionally, as required by the Program and in line with the Client’s requirements (existing and future), the Risk Manager will develop the tools and documents for the contractors and the consultants in the delivery of their scope.
Finally, the Risk Manager will be responsible for supporting the contractors and the consultants in their use of the said tools and dashboards, and in monitoring their performance in complying with the procedures and plans in a timely manner.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide guidance, direction, and assistance for the implementation of the said procedures by the Program team, contractors, and consultants, as necessary.
- Interface with the Client, the Program team, the Delivery Partners, the contractors, and the consultants through emails, workshops, and regular meetings.
- Organize regular and/or ad hoc meetings with all the Stakeholders. Minutes of meetings will be recorded, and action points will be identified and followed through until their resolution.
- Hold regular meetings with all the Stakeholders (including contractors & consultants) to create and maintain the Risk Register. The Risk Register will be regularly issued and shared within the Program team and with the Client, as necessary.
- Conduct regular Quantity and Quality Risks Analysis for both costs and schedules, which will be shared with the Client, the Program, and Project Teams. A close working relationship is to be built with the Cost and Scheduling teams.
- Conduct regular training sessions within the program/project teams and with the contractors/consultants to ensure the Program is kept up to date with the latest developments in terms of good practice and software applications for the industry.
- Supervise effectively the Program Risk team in their day-to-day activities.
- Set appropriate objectives for the Risk team, complete performance reviews, and provide guidance for personnel development for the Program Risk team.
- Assess the impact(s) of pre/post contract risks and/or changes and schedule/cost slippages.
- Perform other duties associated with this position as may be required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field from a recognized university is required.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of work experience in project controls and risk management on engineering and construction projects.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
- PMO/PMCM experience is required; GCC experience is required.
- Experience on Mega/Giga Transportation Infrastructure programs (Aviation and/or Rail).
- Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related construction fields.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Knowledgeable of current Primavera Enterprise scheduling application and fluent in the latest Risk Management software.
- Ability to work in teams; ability to follow through and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines in a complex program environment.
- Strong written and oral communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills are required, both internal and external facing.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- PMP and/or RIMS certification is highly desired.
