Duties & Responsibilities
UI / UX Design
- Independently lead UI / UX engagements on Darkroom's website to showcase our brand and services to the world.
- Comfortable using no-code tools, primarily Framer, to prototype, build, and iterate on web experiences efficiently.
- Collaborate with the CEO and the Head of Marketing to deliver marketing initiatives.
- Competently articulate UX thinking with clarity and confidence.
- Approach UI / UX design with a focus on branded UI, conversion‑focused UX, and clarity.
- Successfully independently project‑manage design engagements from discovery and strategy through ideation, iteration, and hand‑off.
- Approach designs with a sense of structure, creating component systems and adhering to spacing, padding, type style, and color style guidelines.
- Ability to switch gears between projects quickly and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Marketing Design
- This role reports to the Creative Lead and works alongside other creatives to deploy marketing initiatives.
- Execute and maintain a design system and style guides used across all creative collateral, ensuring consistency of the Darkroom brand identity and messaging.
- Collaborate closely with other creatives and marketing team members for daily approvals and feedback to ensure high standards of craft and accurate brand representation.
- Develop a deep understanding of what factors drive conversion on each of Darkroom’s marketing channels and execute designs within established best practices.
Requirements
- 1‑3+ years experience as a UI / UX designer, brand designer, marketing designer, product designer, web designer, or similar role in a high‑caliber creative environment.
- A digital portfolio demonstrating web design and branding work with strong foundations in color theory, hierarchy, composition, and typography.
- Self‑motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for detail‑oriented deliverables.
- Ability to turn ideas and discussions into actionable next steps.
- Proven track record of collaborating with developers or engineers and documenting designs for development hand‑off.
- Strong experience in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, and Variants, is a must.
- Experience with no‑code tools; Framer knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is required.
