The Role
Working Hours: Mondays - Fridays,
6AM-3PM Central European Time
1PM-10PM Asia/Manila
11PM-8AM Central Standard Time
Salary Range: 1300-1700 USD (subject to evaluation of experience and skill level)
The Design QA Manager will focus on mentoring designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality creative outputs, and driving process improvements for specialized design tasks. This role involves developing workflows, identifying trends, conducting regular QA cycles, and providing training to foster a culture of self-sustainability within the team. The QA Manager will oversee 10-15 designers, conducting at least two QA cycles daily, and will be responsible for optimizing quality and turnaround times. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our development team produces high-quality work consistently, meets project deadlines, and grows into a self-reliant, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance
- Perform two QA cycles daily (before and after lunch), reviewing all design deliverables to ensure they meet brand guidelines, client requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback to designers, highlighting areas for improvement while celebrating excellence.
- Develop and maintain QA checklists and guidelines for specialized design tasks (e.g., UI/UX standards, branding consistency, animation fluidity, or marketing-focused design).
- Ensure all designs meet aesthetic, functional, and technical quality standards while maintaining project timelines.
- Mentorship and Team Development
- Act as a mentor for designers, helping them improve technical and creative skills, problem-solving abilities, and efficiency.
- Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins with designers to address challenges, track progress, and provide career development support.
- Deliver workshops or training sessions to keep the team updated on design trends, tools, and platform-specific guidelines.
- Empower designers to become self-sufficient by teaching best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and decision-making frameworks.
- Process Improvement
- Develop and refine workflows to enhance the quality and efficiency of design deliverables.
- Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks and implement solutions to mitigate them at the process level.
- Document and update best practices, QA standards, and lessons learned to create a robust design knowledge base.
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership to streamline design task handoffs and communication.
- Reporting and Communication
- Track and report key quality trends, team performance metrics, and actionable insights to leadership.
- Provide clear guidance to project managers and clients regarding design standards and quality improvements.
- Maintain thorough documentation of feedback, processes, and updates to create transparency and consistency.
- Leadership and Advocacy
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
- Act as a champion for design quality and brand consistency across all deliverables.
- Advocate for ongoing learning and skill development within the design team.
Key Metrics for Success- Quality Metrics: Reduction in client revisions and errors flagged during or post-delivery.

Must-Haves:
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in the specialized design area (e.g., UI/UX tools, graphic design software, animation workflows, branding systems, or marketing design strategies).
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and platform-specific requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience mentoring and managing design teams.
- Ability to inspire a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

- Prior experience as a QA Manager, Senior Designer, or Team Lead in one of the specialized design areas.
