Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Chief Accountant to independently manage the full spectrum of accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing business in the UAE. This is a role suitable for a highly competent individual who is confident working autonomously, overseeing everything from cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting to compliance and financial analysis. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes, local regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive the financial function with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Handle all journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly closings.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and petty cash.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Track and report on cash flow and working capital.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with FTA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit queries.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
• Support procurement and payment processes.
• Liaise with banks and other financial institutions.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.

Manufacturing-Specific Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs including raw materials, labour, and overhead.
• Maintain cost accounting systems and ensure accurate product costing.
• Coordinate inventory valuations and cycle counts.
• Support production and operations teams with financial insights.
• Analyse cost variances and prepare cost reports for management.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA) is a strong plus.
• At least 5-7 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
• Strong command of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Tally, Xero, or ERP systems).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English. Arabic is an added advantage.
