Role Overview:
The PR Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of reputation management, working closely with C-Level executives, the Marketing team and Legal to protect and enhance the company’s public image. In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing the communication strategy that safeguards the brand’s reputation, responding proactively to emerging issues and engaging with external PR agencies to implement effective media relations and crisis management plans. You will serve as a key advisor to the CMO, CEO and VP of Legal, drawing on their guidance to navigate complex communications challenges to maintain a consistent, positive brand presence.
How you will make an impact:
- Develop and execute reputation management initiatives to ensure consistent, positive brand messaging and address emerging issues proactively.
- Collaborate with external PR agencies, coordinating media outreach, monitoring coverage and managing public statements and press releases.
- Serve as the point of contact for media relations, ensuring a timely and accurate response to protect and enhance the company’s public profile.
- Work closely with the CMO, CEO, VP of Legal and other senior stakeholders to align on the high-level communication strategy, as well as preparation of key messages and overall PR plan.
- Conduct regular media monitoring and social listening, providing insights on public sentiment and identifying risks to the brand’s reputation.
- Assist in developing a crisis communication plan with proactive responses drafted in advance.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align on key messages prior to trade shows and other industry events.
- Maintain strong relationships with media and industry influencers, positioning the company as a trusted and reputable leader in its field.
What makes you the perfect candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field; a Masters degree is a plus.
- Additional certifications or training in reputation management, crisis communications, or media relations are advantageous.
- Proven experience in a communications or reputation management role, ideally with a background in PR, corporate communications or crisis management.
- Strong understanding of media relations, including experience working with PR agencies and managing external partners.
- Skilled at handling sensitive communications issues, with a calm and strategic approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior leadership and adapting communication strategies based on input and feedback.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to handle fast-paced environments and quickly respond to changing circumstances.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English is essential.
- Must possess a practical, hands-on approach to work.
