Charterhouse is currently supporting an Oil & Gas client, who is looking to recruit a Risk Analyst for their trading and logistics entity within a regional start-up.
Sat within the middle-office, this Risk Analyst will oversee a range of accounting duties linked to trade finance activities, while overseeing the P&L reporting across the trading platform and product desks. This role will extend to the production of risk analysis, mitigations, and reporting commentaries, supporting the reporting of market movements, variance reporting, and price forecasts.
This Analyst will also support areas of trade capture and oversee any hedging requirements across both commodity and FX trading points.
The client is looking to recruit this Analyst at an entry level; however, the position requires two years of experience within a finance and/or middle-office environment within an oil & gas or trading-related operation. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of risk management and controllership to ensure that reporting policies support middle and back-office functions.
The nature of this role and the organizational fit will require candidates to deliver a strong baseline of technical and commercial knowledge, facilitating ease of inception into a start-up environment, while also being a subject matter expert in financial and operational risk along with a strong understanding of Excel-based reporting and analysis tools.
