As a Laboratory Engineer, you will lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Malaysia Technical and Development Laboratory, ensuring all laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and work instructions. The role also involves performing and supporting a wide range of testing activities related to product and process development, qualification, improvement, as well as technical research and investigations.

• Education or Competency Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent. Preferably specialised in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Science.
• Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in a laboratory, quality, engineering, or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in laboratory testing, test method development, validation, and strong analytical problem-solving, including interpretation of laboratory data and trends.

• Lead and coordinate daily laboratory activities.
• Provide functional supervision and technical guidance to laboratory technicians, ensuring effective resource utilisation and continuity of operations.
• Develop, review, and maintain laboratory test methods, protocols, SOPs, and work instructions to ensure technically sound and compliant testing practices.
• Execute test method validation, design verification and first article covering raw materials, in-process materials and finished product.
• Oversee laboratory equipment sourcing, development, setup, qualification, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
• Identify and support implementation of laboratory process improvements and new technologies to enhance productivity, data quality, and laboratory capability.
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with internal specifications, quality management system requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, ISO/IEC 17025, FDA, and GMP.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, data integrity, and record control, including test reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), logs, and trend data.
• Support investigations of non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification (OOS) results, including CAPA activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to support product development, process changes, validations, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and coach laboratory personnel to ensure consistent and compliant execution of laboratory methods and procedures.
• Support stability studies, environmental monitoring, and validation activities as required.
