JOB SUMMARY
The Group Director of Finance is the strategic leader responsible for the financial health, performance, and governance of the entire hotel group. This executive role oversees all aspects of corporate and property-level finance, including financial planning, budgets, forecasts, accounting, cash flow management, internal controls, risk management, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
The role provides direct leadership and coaching to property General Managers and Finance leaders to drive performance, optimize profitability, strengthen financial discipline, and ensure full compliance with group standards, Indonesian regulations, and international hospitality best practices.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and lead the Group Financial Strategy, ensuring alignment with the CEO’s vision, business objectives, and growth plans.
- Provide financial leadership for business expansion, new developments, rebranding, renovations, and investment feasibility studies.
- Serve as the key finance advisor to the CEO, COO, Board, and ownership committees.
- Translate strategic plans into clear financial targets, operational guidelines, and performance measures for each hotel.
Financial Performance Management & Business Results
- Drive EBITDA, GOP, Total Revenue, and Productivity KPIs across all hotel properties.
- Hold General Managers and Financial Controllers strictly accountable for achieving financial results.
- Conduct monthly Financial Performance Reviews with each GM and property Finance team.
- Analyse P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Lead performance turnaround strategies for underperforming hotels.
- Work closely with Revenue, Operations, and Sales & Marketing to ensure commercial alignment and profitability.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead the group’s annual budget process, setting financial expectations, cost guidelines, and revenue targets for each property.
- Oversee rolling forecasts, risk assessments, and financial scenario planning.
- Ensure property budgets reflect realistic business volumes, market conditions, and operational capacity.
- Approve business plans, financial models, and capital expenditure proposals.
Internal Control, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure strict compliance with Indonesian financial regulations, tax laws, hospitality accounting standards (USALI), and internal audit guidelines.
- Develop and enforce a strong financial control framework, covering purchasing, inventory, cash handling, payroll, and asset management.
- Conduct regular property audits to ensure compliance, accuracy, and transparency.
- Oversee statutory reporting, treasury, insurance, tax submissions, and risk mitigation programs.
Corporate Finance, Treasury & Cash Flow
- Oversee group-level financial reporting, treasury operations, bank relationships, investment management, and debt planning.
- Safeguard company assets and ensure optimal liquidity for operational and investment needs.
- Forecast cash flow and establish treasury controls, funding plans, and financial risk mitigation structures.
Commercial Partnership & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with:
- VP Operations to drive operational efficiency.
- Group Director of Sales & Marketing to align commercial strategies with profitability.
- Group Revenue Director to ensure pricing and revenue decisions maximize yield.
- Group HR Director to align payroll cost strategies, manpower planning, and compensation structures.
- Ensure all corporate departments operate with financial accountability and proper cost governance.
Financial Reporting & Analytics
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of:
- Monthly Management Reports
- Consolidated Financial Statements
- Variance Analysis
- KPI Dashboards
- Owner Reports
- CAPEX Tracking Reports
- Implement financial analytics tools and BI dashboards for enhanced decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
CAPEX Management & Asset Optimization
- Oversee CAPEX planning, ROI analysis, and approval of major expenditures.
- Ensure alignment between CAPEX allocation, operational priorities, and long-term asset value.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to ensure CAPEX execution efficiency and governance.
Leadership, Talent Development & Oversight
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate all group-level and property-level Finance leaders.
- Ensure every Financial Controller and GM is accountable for financial outcomes and compliance.
- Build a robust succession pipeline for Financial Controllers, Finance Managers, and Accounting leaders.
- Partner with Group L&D to create Finance training programs (USALI, budgeting, cost control, internal controls).
- Conduct regular alignment meetings with all Cluster and Property Finance teams.
Stakeholder & Owner Relations
- Provide transparent, data-driven financial reporting to property owners, asset managers, and investment partners.
- Attend owner meetings and represent corporate finance in all financial discussions.
- Support ownership groups with forecasts, project analysis, and financing strategies.
Others
- Achieve the monthly and annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assigned, which will be outlined separately. KPIs may include, but are not limited to, targets related to productivity, quality, efficiency, compliance, and contributions to team or departmental objectives.
- Accept temporary or permanent transfers to another section, department, or ARYADUTA property, as required by business needs and performance considerations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior, which are relevant to the role and support departmental or organizational objectives.
DNA
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Advanced certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA).
- Minimum 15–20 years of finance experience with at least 7–10 years in corporate or regional finance leadership within an international 4- or 5-star hotel group.
- Expert knowledge of USALI, financial modelling, hotel accounting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Proven ability to lead multi-property Finance teams and hold GMs accountable for results.
- Strong analytical ability with experience in business strategy, investment evaluation, and financial planning.
