We are seeking a Machinist to plan, prepare and undertake relevant machining and fitting projects to agreed timescales.
During their daily duties they would carry out routine machining and fitting projects and work tasks such as turning, milling, boring, threading, drilling on parts for vessels and various fabrication projects. Machinists should ideally possess an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or similar machining apprenticeship qualification or at equivalent trade experience in a similar position or industry.
Machinists have a standard 39-hour week, but overtime and weekend work are often available. Usually working in the on-site machine shop but occasionally at off-site locations. Their working environment can be noisy with a large amount of hot and sharp metal cuttings. Protective equipment such as boots, coveralls, hard hat, gloves, glasses/goggles and hearing protection can be required while carrying out their working duties.
They will assist in the implementation of the quality systems by following the Company Policies and Procedures and help to implement and maintain health, safety and environmental standards, working safely at all times to ensure the health and wellbeing of themselves and their fellow workers.
