Position: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias - Permanent
Shifts: 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am - 4 on/off rotating weekly
Salary: £54,000 to £58,000

The ideal person will be working for a Major Company based in the Heart of Birmingham that supplies the Aerospace sector and will be a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer who is Electrically Biased with PLC background.

1. Provide a high standard of multi-skilled engineering support whilst working safely either independently or as part of a team.
2. Aid in reduction of production losses, energy and waste.
3. Diagnose faults or point of failure, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability and equipment availability.
4. Engineer out equipment failures through continuous improvement.
5. Plan, coordinate and execute installation and plant improvement projects.
6. Provide support and input to plan & coordinate planned maintenance schedules, act on follow up repairs, source spares, complete and file documentation to audit standard.
7. Communicate with suppliers, chase outstanding orders.
8. Provide shift, factory start up/shutdown cover as and when required.
9. Specify & procure critical spares, be able to create requisitions to order.
10. Report equipment issues, follow up works & spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer and report in the shift report.
11. Maintain housekeeping to a high standard.
12. Support work requests outside of the sphere of the immediate role.
13. Any other non-defined duties &/or responsibilities required to support engineering's operations.

1. Experience of heavy motorised and hydraulic plant.
2. Experience of steam generation, boiler house operation and high pressure fluid systems.
3. Mechanical and Electrical experience.
4. BTec or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
