The services will be performed within a leading energy company Global Procurement Department specifically in the Subsea and Offshore Construction Procurement category with a key focus on Offshore Wind Transport & Installation projects. The objective is to secure and optimize the long-term availability of offshore wind installation means to support Company’s global offshore wind projects contributing to its ambition of becoming a sustainable multienergy leader.
This role requires a strong procurement & supply chain background combined with technical knowledge of offshore transport and installation activities in both offshore wind and offshore oil & gas sectors.
What You’ll Do
As an Offshore Wind Contract Engineer you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of offshore wind projects by managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the successful completion of key activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct market research analysis and evaluation of offshore wind installation vessels, suppliers, and contracts.
- Develop and maintain supplier intelligence related to offshore wind marine installation vessels.
- Consolidate market intelligence and benchmarking for offshore wind transport and installation procurement.
- Organize multidisciplinary workshops with structural engineers, legal experts, and project engineers.
- Support the development of a procurement strategy for offshore wind installation means.
- Organize and lead supply chain consultations including RFI (Request for Information) exercises.
- Prepare and manage Call for Tenders (CFT) including tender documentation and analysis.
- Qualify suppliers and conduct commercial and contractual negotiations.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, agreements, and exhibits for offshore wind vessel services and operations.
- Ensure full compliance with Company procurement and ethics policies.
- Manage risks associated with offshore transport and installation procurement ensuring alignment with sustainability, HSE, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper document management and adherence to procurement templates and guidelines.
- Act as the interface between procurement, technical teams, and legal departments.
- Work closely with technical units and internal stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
Graduated from an engineering or business school, Bachelor's degree as minimum.
- Robust understanding of industrial projects in Oil & Gas or Renewable energies.
- Familiarity with offshore transportation and installation industry, turbine, cable, and substation installation.
- International experience in the offshore wind or energy sector is required.
- Proficiency in Power BI for analytics and reporting (Advanced).
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills with a structured approach (Expert).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills (Expert).
- Experience in commercial & contractual negotiations in the offshore marine industry (Expert).
- Knowledge of offshore wind installation methodologies including foundation, turbine, cable, and substation installation (Confirmed).
- Understanding of offshore operations such as pipelaying, platform installation, dredging, and cable laying (Confirmed).
- Supplier relationship management and contract (Expert).
- Experience in bid preparation, tender evaluations, and contract award processes (Expert).
- Ability to use digital tools in procurement (e.g. SAP eSourcing) (Confirmed).
Languages: French & Chinese is a plus.
