Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK. ABOUT THE JOB
Gunzilla Games is seeking a talented VFX Director to join our dynamic team. We seek someone who resonates with our vision and can bring their extensive experience to craft an unforgettable gaming experience for our players. Someone who is universe and excited about creating stunning VFX for the all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. RESPONSIBILITIES
- To take ownership of our VFX team and collaborate with Art, Creative and Production Directors to bring life and excitement to the game by designing and implementing compelling, realistic visual effects.
- Help mentor other VFX Artists and lead by example.
- Collaborate with Art directors, production director to schedule and assign tasks, goals and milestones for the team.
- Coordinate with Art, Design and Animation to ensure VFX matches the game's quality bar and vision.
- Fix VFX-related bugs, including performance and budget issues.
- Help to improve technical pipelines and VFX creation techniques/tools.
- Assist in research and development.
REQUIREMENTS
- +7 years in the games industry with at least 3 years experience as a lead or Director
- Has shipped at least one AAA game, preferably BR, FPS, Shooter, as a Lead demonstrating a high visual bar
- Demonstrable ability to create beautiful and affecting VFX for games, film/TV, or a combination.
- Both technical and creative with a solid artistic vision.
- Experience across multiplatform and UE4 & UE5.
- Strong understanding of particle systems.
- Mastery of relevant software packages such as Houdini, Photoshop, After Effects and Maya.
- Ability to balance impacts of deadlines and resources with style and quality requirements of our game
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently
- Ability to maintain pacing in situations of intense schedules
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
