Description

The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This Full-time Fixed Term is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

This position reports to the Principal Investigator.

A Program Coordinator is sought to oversee a research portfolio that seeks to improve care, experiences and outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults facing cancer. Research projects are largely quantitative with an epidemiology focus, though mixed methods approaches are intermittently utilized. The Program Coordinator will also oversee the Patient and Family Advisory Council with the Principal Investigator.

(job functions include but are not limited to):

1. Track and document progress for all research studies within portfolio
2. Implement organization workflows and documentation to ensure widespread implementation on team
3. Lead the day-to-day operational aspects of the program to ensure efficiency and timely work completion, including identifying and resolving issues and conflicts
4. Prepare program-related communication (e.g. questionnaires, reports, briefings, correspondence, newsletters, presentations, etc.) and manage the communication between various levels of collaborators, stakeholders and patient/family advisors
5. Prepare material for ethical review, data requests, and meetings
6. Coordinate relevant knowledge translation outputs (e.g. websites, infographics, newsletters, brochures) with web/graphic designer(s)

1. Minimum of a Bachelor degree in a health-related field is required
2. Masters in a health-related field will be considered an asset
3. Minimum 3 years of experience in project management and/or research coordination is required
4. Expertise in Microsoft 365 Apps, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
5. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered an asset
6. Working knowledge of research and ethics standards, policies, and procedures
7. Experience with data management and analysis, and/or working with REDCap, is an asset
8. Exceptional organization and documentation skills
9. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and interact respectfully with collaborators
10. Ability to work independently with limited supervision
