Role Overview
The General Manager, Africa will lead the expansion of Nurture's footprint across Africa and the Middle East, initially focusing on setting up new partnerships. They will build on existing high-level discussions with governments, vice-chancellors, and institutional stakeholders while overseeing operations, growth, and performance across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Expansion
- Lead efforts to secure new Global Academy partnerships with universities, employers, and governments.
- Progress and convert ongoing high-level discussions into tangible agreements.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding Nurture's network.
- Work closely with the leadership team to leverage existing relationships and strategic initiatives.
- Support student recruitment and marketing efforts to drive strong early enrollments.
- Regional Leadership & Business Performance
- Setup new centres from scratch, building teams, systems, processes and everything else that comes with launching a new academy.
- Oversee the growth, success, and performance of all Nurture Global Academies in Africa.
- Develop and manage a high-performing regional team, ensuring operational excellence.
- Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, university partners, and employers.
- Ensure financial sustainability, enrolment targets, and student success outcomes are met.
- Drive long-term expansion strategies, positioning Nurture as a leader in higher education across Africa.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in operations and business development in higher education, edtech, or related sectors.
- A track record of managing high-value partnerships with universities, governments, or employers.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Deep understanding of Africa's higher education landscape and workforce development priorities.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and execution skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, able to drive results while working within a collaborative team.
