• Providing patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building a personal connection at every visit.
• Ensuring that patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goal for comprehensive oral health.
• Desire to help, educate and improve our patients’ lives.
• Collecting patient’s dental and relevant medical history, to reference during examinations.
• Preparing patients for the Orthodontist.
• Preparing patient and equipment for X-Rays.
• Taking X-Rays and following all safety procedures as required.
• Examining gums for infections or gum disease.
• Cleaning patient’s teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss and brush.
• Bonding and removal of brackets and orthodontic appliances.
• Placing and removing arch wires.
• Educating patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
• Updating patient records and examination notes.
• Performing all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
• Preparing and maintaining all dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Calling patients for aftercare and answering questions.
• Traveling to satellite locations if/when necessary.
• Maintaining a positive attitude and working cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
• Possessing great energy for a fast-paced environment.

• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program. Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
• Great time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
