About the Role:
The Senior Auditor plays a crucial role within our internal audit team. In this position, you will plan and conduct internal audits of various eHealth programs, financial systems, IT controls, and management processes. You will identify control deficiencies, propose effective and practical solutions, and provide strategic advice to senior management. Your expertise will help enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance across the organization.
Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, the typical duties will include:
- Completing risk assessments and establishing audit objectives to be tested as part of the assurance or advisory engagement.
- Developing, recommending, and implementing an audit plan to assess program and management processes as well as the existence of controls.
- Designing / conducting system tests and procedures to evaluate eHealth programs, financial / IT systems, controls, and management processes.
- Drafting audit reports based on audit findings to the audit client, management, and the Board.
- Conducting special audit projects or reviews as requested by management.
- Participating in presentations on Internal Audit activities to senior management and/or the Board.
- Reviews and interprets legislation, eHealth policies (including GoS/FAM policies when applicable), branch policies, procedures, work standards to gain understanding of the organization and its processes with control environment.
- Creates new audit program standards for use by other auditors in the branch.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration with a focus in accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting and/or auditing designation/certification (ex. CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.)
- Minimum 3 years related audit experience.
- Experience Leading and conducting risk-based assurance and advisory engagements in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders at varying levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users.
