Purpose and Scope:
The Contractor shall provide OM&R support for all generators, automatic transfer switched (ATS), synchronization gears and light carts, refueling support services to enable refueling of all operational generators on an ongoing basis. The Contractor shall provide inspections, maintenance as required. In addition, the Contractor shall perform facility management and maintenance and repair for fuel systems supporting facility stationery and emergency back-up generators.
The Contractor shall use all USG provided generators, transformers, switchgears, fuel tanks, cabling and any other equipment needed to support the government s requests of spot generators providing prime power for mission requirements. Additionally, in order to minimize mission impact due to power outages caused by routine maintenance or unexpected equipment failure, the Contractor shall utilize USG provided back-up generators to meet the performance objectives of providing reliable and continuous prime power support and no scheduled power outages longer than one (1) hour.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver s license. The technician shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the electrical power generation field. The technician manages resources and activities devoted to installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power generating and control systems. The technician shall have knowledge of: Principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization; types, capacity, and purpose of low voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches (automatic/manual type), fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and distribution; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications; techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment; use and purpose of test equipment; safety rules and practices; grounding practices, environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of electrical power production systems. Experience with operating and maintaining generators ranging from 5 to 4,300 kilowatts desired. All technicians shall be power production journeyman or master technicians.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
