Yahoo Maktoob is looking for a versatile, aggressively fast-paced and innovative individual to lead editorial programming and production of our daily news and finance coverage as Managing Editor, Information for Yahoo Middle East English. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of running a digital news team. Candidates must be comfortable working in real-time collaborating with multiple teams in different locations and coordinating with strategic partners in a dynamic environment. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, impeccable news judgment and the ability to make high-stakes decisions quickly and clearly.
• 5 years of editorial management, preferably in the digital news arena.
• A track record of aggressive management and quick turn editorial programming in a fast-paced digital news environment.
• Extensive experience managing content across different locations and time zones.
• Comfortable working with senior management and corporate matrix partners.
• Excellent news judgement combined with a fine-tuned sensibility of when and where to take risks.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to lead while working collaboratively with multiple teams.
• A comprehensive understanding of editorial best practices, including SEO and SMO.
• B.A. required, preferably in journalism or media.
• Excellent command of fluent English (written and spoken) required. Knowledge of Arabic a strong advantage.
