Job Purpose:
Provide general banking services such as receiving deposits, withdrawal of cash, and cash management as per Bank’s policies. Issue DDs, MCs, and pass Internal Transfers.
Principal Accountabilities:
Work Management:
Ensure the correct receipt/payment of cash and accurately credit/debit the customer’s account, acknowledging receipt to customers.
Issue Manager Cheques & DDs (demand drafts) and exchange currencies by observing procedures such as customer identification, draft authenticity, and applying the approved exchange rate to protect customer and bank interests.
Make payments/inter-account transfers within authority limits; for transactions beyond limits, obtain approval from the concerned official to prevent overdrawing customer accounts without authorization.
Support overall branch banking operations by providing additional services as directed.
Engage in cross-selling or referral of bank products and services to support the bank’s targets.
Maintain and improve customer queue time for teller services to less than 3 minutes, monitored through the Customer Visit Management System.
Process all Internal Transfer requests independently, over and above existing duties.
Take over Head Teller responsibilities when required.
Verify postings by other Tellers against the day’s transactions journal and sign off on the report.
At day-end, transfer all cash to the Head Teller, print the cash proof, and obtain signature; report any over/short to the Head Teller and BOM immediately.

Ensure strict adherence to procedures to avoid delays, errors, irregularities, and risks, thereby enhancing service standards and customer satisfaction.
Proactively deliver satisfying customer service by providing fast, accurate, efficient, and courteous service.
People:
Stay updated with the Bank’s Operations Procedures, identify areas for self-development aligned with the Bank’s competency guidelines, and participate in training initiatives, including E-learning, as required.
Education and Experience:
Graduate, preferably in a commercially oriented discipline, or Diploma in business/finance-related subjects.
2–3 years of experience in Branch Banking or as a Teller is preferred.
