Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be appointed permanently in the Department as an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer and will be appointed as a Rotational HOD in line with the rotational HOD guidelines for a 5-year period. At the expiry of the 5-year rotational HOD appointment, the incumbent will revert back to the level at which the appointment was made on a permanent basis – Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer level, whichever level is relevant.
The Head of Department must take a leadership role within the SP & FET Department for managing, leading and providing direction to a team of academics and support staff. Responsibilities include:
In addition to meeting the core academic expectations, the incumbent should manage the department effectively and efficiently, in line with the CPUT policies and procedures including but not limited to:
The successful candidate must teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and be actively involved in research and post-graduate supervision.
Note: The position is based at the Wellington Campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans.
