Overview

The Senior Art Director / Art Director is responsible for owning and shaping the overall visual direction of Ambi, a brand under the Ask and Embla Group, across key marketing and customer touchpoints. This role operates at a strategic and leadership level, balancing high-level creative vision with hands-on design oversight to ensure visual excellence, consistency, and strong commercial impact.

Working closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional partners across Marketing, Web, Product, and Performance, this role sets and protects Ambi’s visual standards, ensuring all creative output strengthens brand equity while supporting business growth. This role provides leadership across the design function, guiding art direction, mentoring designers, and continuously elevating creative quality across all outputs.

This role will lead design direction across Ads, Web, and Retention Marketing, while overseeing Ambi’s brand expression across broader customer touchpoints including branding, packaging, social media, PR, and future physical or experiential activations.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and evolve the brand’s visual direction across major customer and marketing touchpoints.
  • Translate brand, campaign, and business objectives into strong creative frameworks, concepts, and visual systems.
  • Lead the development of key visuals and creative direction for campaigns, launches, and major initiatives.
  • Ensure all visual communications are cohesive, on-brand, and effective across digital, social, print, and web platforms.
  • Champion brand guidelines and visual standards, ensuring consistent execution while allowing room for creative evolution.
  • Incorporate insights from performance data, audience behavior, and industry trends to continuously refine creative direction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Web, Product, Performance, and Retention teams to align creative direction with business goals.
  • Act as a senior creative partner in campaign planning, offering strategic input from concept through execution.
  • Present creative direction, concepts, and rationale clearly to stakeholders, incorporating feedback without compromising creative integrity.
  • Ensure creative output supports both brand-building and performance-driven objectives.
Creative Leadership and Oversight
  • Set and uphold a high bar for design quality, craft, and visual storytelling across the creative team.
  • Provide clear art direction and feedback to designers to ensure consistency and excellence across all deliverables.
  • Review and approve creative work across channels, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign intent.
  • Guide the creative team through complex or high-impact projects, offering direction and problem-solving support.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Mentor and develop Art Directors and Designers, helping them grow in craft, confidence, and creative judgment.
  • Support talent development through regular feedback, coaching, and design reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve creative workflows, tools, and processes to increase efficiency without sacrificing quality.
  • Help build a collaborative, high-performing creative culture grounded in trust, ownership, and creative ambition.
Project Oversight and Workflow
  • Oversee creative planning and execution across multiple projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and priorities are well managed.
  • Work with partners to balance creative ambition with production realities, budgets, and timelines.
  • Anticipate creative risks or bottlenecks and proactively address them to keep projects moving forward.
Who You Are
  • Must be willing to work in Singapore.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience in a Senior Art Director or Art Director role with significant ownership over brand and campaign creative.
  • Strong background in fashion, retail, cosmetics, jewelry, or e-commerce brands is highly preferred.
  • Deep resonance with Ambi as a brand, with a clear understanding of its aesthetic, values, and cultural positioning is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional visual design and art direction skills, supported by a strong portfolio across digital, web, social, print, and campaign work.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and strong familiarity with modern digital design workflows.
  • Deep understanding of brand systems, visual storytelling, and how design supports marketing and commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and elevate designers while maintaining a high creative bar.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creative vision, data-informed insights, and business objectives.
  • Clear and confident communicator, comfortable presenting creative direction to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
