Develop and implement strategies for managing and resolving disputes.
Draft, review, and revise legal contracts, company resolutions, company policies, and other legal and/or commercial or corporate documents.
Draft and review legal documents, including letters, memorandums and reports.
Monitor and analyse relevant laws and regulations, proposing necessary changes to internal policies to mitigate risks and exposures.
Provide legal research and support to the legal team across a broad range of matters, including conveyancing, litigation, and corporate matters.
Collaborate with external solicitors and third-party advisors on company legal matters.
Keep management informed about the latest legislative and regulatory developments.
Actively participate in various ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
With a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Certificate of Legal Practice (or equivalent), or admission to the Bar of England and Wales.
1-2 years of experience as a practising lawyer, legal executive, associate, or in a similar role. Prior in-house experience is a plus.
General and corporate litigation experience is an added advantage.
Proficient in written and spoken English, Malay and Mandarin.
Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is essential for reviewing and analysing Chinese regulations and laws, as well as communicating with local stakeholders.
Strong critical thinking skills to assess fact situations, identify legal issues, analyse, understand, and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and part of a team.
Excel at solving complex, multi-faceted problems, demonstrating sound judgment in risk assessment and the ability to present informed solutions in a manner that balances business goals and people’s needs.
