We are searching for a reliable Financial Manager to oversee daily financial accounting operations, provide strategic guidance to senior management for future financial planning, and ensure statutory compliance in audit, tax, and internal control. The ideal candidate should possess a unique blend of expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning, complemented by exemplary leadership skills. Your role will involve offering valuable insights to empower decision-makers to align with our long-term goals, as well as spearheading the development and implementation of financial plans to drive the company's growth and profitability while actively monitoring financial performance and identifying areas for improvement for both subsidiaries and consolidation at the group level.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the full spectrum of Finance Department, which comprises of corporate finance, accounting, banking, treasury, tax, audit, statutory reporting, and corporate secretarial related matters for subsidiaries as well as group consolidation. The primary duties entail the supervision of daily financial operations, providing strategic guidance to senior management through comprehensive management reports and financial analysis, ensuring rigorous compliance in audit, tax, and internal control, and spearheading the development and execution of financial plans and policies designed to foster company growth and profitability. Additionally, this role involves the supervision of a finance team dedicated to supporting financial management and equity transactions, as well as collaborating with other departments to meet their financial requirements.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Overall responsible for all financial reporting, management accounting and timely submission of reports in compliance with Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) for subsidiaries and group consolidation as well as provide financial analysis for reporting to CEO as required for board meetings and Annual General Meetings.
  2. Lead a team in planning, directing, and coordinating finance operations in an efficient and professional manner, including accurate maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll in compliance with applicable laws and policies to achieve individual and departmental goals with high level of integrity.
  3. Provide financial insights through comprehensive financial analysis, produce financial and management reports related to forecast and budget, account receivables/payables, costing and expenses analysis as well as cashflow management.
  4. Develop, implement, and maintain sound financial accounting system, document standard operating procedures, corporate governance, and internal controls to minimize financial risks.
  5. Ensure statutory compliance such as audit, taxation, and other statutory requirements by working closely with internal and external auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, company secretarial providers and other statutory bodies.
  6. Demonstrate and drive a culture of continuous improvement in finance processes, including robust analytic capabilities, costing system improvements, transparency of reporting while seeking opportunities for simplification and standardization across the organization.
  7. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and IT departments on the issues arising from daily operations and work closely with them on new projects, such as processes and tools to enhance customer experience, promote company growth, and improve profitability.
  8. Assist in evaluating and implementing corporate proposals, equity investments, fundraising activities, and governance of company performance in our investment portfolio to assess incubation efforts and facilitate equity investment decisions.
  9. Undertake additional responsibilities compatible with the job description and objectives as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, MIA/ACCA/MICPA, or any other professionally recognized qualifications.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, including managing a group of companies and a shared services setup; experience in investment portfolio management is a plus.
  3. Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required for this role.
  4. Highly committed and capable of working independently with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
  6. Exceptional communication, management, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, accounting software such as Autocount, and databases.
