Purchasing Assistant (Clerical/Data Entry Exp + Inventory or Manuf. Req.) Description
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their growing team just southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will provide administrative and clerical support to the Purchasing department, including data entry, order tracking, vendor communication, and system updates. The ideal candidate will bring prior office experience related to inventory or manufacturing, and strong attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, growing company.
Purchasing Assistant (Clerical/Data Entry Exp + Inventory or Manuf. Req.) Responsibilities
• Compile material requests and create purchase orders
• Send POs to suppliers and track acknowledgements
• Set up part numbers and vendor profiles in internal systems
• Receive material against blanket purchase orders
• Handle small dollar purchases as needed
• Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, and contracts
• Collaborate with Accounting, Warehouse, and Receiving departments
• Follow up with suppliers on orders, changes, or issues
• Update internal databases and tracking tools
• Provide administrative support to buyers and respond to inquiries
Purchasing Assistant (Clerical/Data Entry Exp + Inventory or Manuf. Req.) Qualifications
• Office experience involving interdepartmental communication and data entry is required
• Previous experience in inventory or manufacturing environments is required
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills are required
• Comfortable learning and using new software systems + basic Excel skills are required
• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
