API DEVELOPER (AWS & Python)
Mostly remote working - Once per fortnight travel to Staffordshire based office
Salary Range: £70K - £85K

This company is seeking an experienced API Developer to join its dynamic Technology and Change department. The API Developer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that facilitate seamless data exchange between various software systems and third-party services. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a fast-paced, agile environment while working on innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.

1. Work within an Agile multidisciplinary team to plan, code, and deploy Python and JavaScript-based REST APIs on AWS.
2. Identify, develop, document, and deliver high-performance APIs and programs using Python and AWS.
3. Manage the API release lifecycle, including versioning and enabling third-party integration.
4. Integrate new code into existing continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery/deployment (CD) pipelines.
5. Ensure robust API security and authentication mechanisms.

1. A bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, information systems, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience in developing APIs using Python, JavaScript, OpenAPI, and AWS API Gateway.
3. Solid understanding of REST and Rest Oriented Architecture (ROA).
4. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
5. Strong technical skills with a desire to learn new technologies and methodologies.
