Role
Background
We have developed expertise in stimulating interest in green home improvement through community-based social marketing, especially in-person events. This report summarises some pilot work in this area. We have since refined our approach and seek to expand it across Glasgow City Region, complemented by traditional and digital marketing.
The Role
This is an opportunity to take a front-line role in an expanding climate action enterprise.
The Marketing and Community Engagement Officer will drive demand for green home improvement and our services through community engagement events, online communications, and traditional advertising.
In addition, they will gather customer feedback to steer improvements in service design.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise in-person community events including arranging venues, speakers, catering.
- Coordinate our volunteering programme.
- Drive engagement through digital marketing including social media and website.
- Coordinate and/or write storytelling content such as case studies and homeowner testimonies.
- Coordinating video content including managing our YouTube channel and creating clips for social media.
- Organise and execute other marketing activities including webinars and exhibition stands.
- Operate within our data protection policy and comply with GDPR.
- Continuous improvement driven by performance metrics.
Skills And Experience
Required
- Experience of organising in-person community engagement events such as talks or tours.
- Demonstrable success in driving engagement through digital media, including use of analytics.
- Skilled with design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign or similar.
- Confident with IT including Google Workspace/ MS Office, collaboration tools.
Preferred
- Creative skills in designing art content for leaflets, posters, social media.
- Skilled in writing copy.
- Skilled in managing WordPress websites.
- Experience in analysing consumer feedback, consumer personas, and product/service development.
- Driving licence (although we aim to cycle or use public transport whenever practical).
Location
- You should be based within a commutable distance of our office in central Glasgow.
- There will be a mixture of office working, events in the community and flexibility to work from home.
- We serve households and communities across Glasgow City Region.
Schedule
- 4 or 5 days per week, as preferred by the successful candidate.
- This role involves community engagement events in evenings and at weekends, managed with Time Off in Lieu.
