Editorial Director - Video & Audio
Salary: Excellent base and executive benefits package
Location: Home & hub, Canary Wharf
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of video journalism at scale. As Editorial Director for Video & Audio, you will be the architect of the next era of our newsrooms — moving us beyond “video as an add-on” and into a world-class, audience-first video and audio ecosystem.
Your mission is to build a future where high-production YouTube formats, viral social storytelling, and premium subscriber-only content drive deep engagement, cultural relevance, and sustainable revenue. You’ll build on strong foundations already in place: dozens of talented video specialists embedded in our newsrooms, a thriving YouTube team, and a commercial-led video studio built for growth.
This role sits at the intersection of editorial ambition, audience insight, and commercial impact — and has the power to redefine how millions of people experience news every day.
With a monthly reach of more than 48 million people, your work will help shape the national conversation every single day. We offer the scale and influence of a media powerhouse, combined with the ambition and agility of a digital disruptor. This is your platform to redefine what local and national journalism looks like in a post-text, video-first world.

We're home to more than 120 trusted brands - from household names like the Mirror, Express, Daily Star and Daily Record, to local titles like the Manchester Evening News, MyLondon, BelfastLive and brands making a splash in the US like the Irish Star.
It's our ability to understand people and the things that matter to them that makes us the UK and Ireland's largest commercial news publisher. We reach 70% of the UK's online population and speak to over 100 million social followers around the world. And we’re just getting started…
As a modern media organisation, we're much more than just news. And it takes a wide range of people and skills to serve diverse audiences, customers and communities like we do.
We know everyone has their own story to tell, so we’ve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.
We’ll help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.
We’re looking for a bold, visionary leader with a proven track record of transforming video at scale in fast-moving media environments. You will likely bring:
