A leading public service broadcaster in the UK is seeking a Content Assistant to support the production team in delivering high-quality audio content. This role will involve administrative duties, editing tasks, and working closely with various radio programmes. Ideal candidates will have proven radio experience and strong digital skills, along with the ability to work as part of a dynamic team. The position is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days on-site at Media City UK, Salford.

DEPARTMENT : Salford. BBC Audio North
LOCATION : Media City UK Salford / Hybrid (on site in Salford 3 days per week).
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE : 24600 - 30000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

The Content Assistant provides logistical and co-ordination support to our teams on several productions ensuring delivery on time and in budget. This role is to work with the BBC Audio North team in Salford. You will join a team working across a variety of output reporting to an Editor or Producer.
In the first instance this role will sit within our Culture Arts and Music team which produce the flagship Radio 4 entertainment strand Loose Ends and the poetry programme The Verb.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the running of a team that produces daily live and pre-recorded content across BBC Sounds national radio networks and the BBC World Service.
BBC Audio North is the single biggest supplier of BBC radio programmes and podcasts made outside of London. We love audio and make lots of it a rich mix of content spanning multiple genres including consumer investigations documentaries pop music religion and arts for Radio 1 2 4 6 Music plus the World Service and BBC Sounds.
Content Assistants could be scheduled onto any of the output across Audio North however for your first placement we expect youll be scheduled onto Radio 4s flagship series Loose Ends a fast‑paced short‑turnaround entertainment title as well as across a portfolio of other work. You will be supporting the Producer and Assistant Producer with show production research and administration tasks. This role may require early morning and weekend working. It is based in MediaCity Salford but travel and location work may be necessary. Content Assistants as members of BBC Audio North can be expected to be scheduled on programmes across the department according to business need. The expectation is that you will be working in the Salford office a minimum of 3 days per week.
