A childcare service provider in Highgate is looking for a nurturing nanny-housekeeper to support a single mother and her 2.5-year-old son. This permanent role involves 38-40 hours of work per week, with responsibilities including cooking, grocery shopping, and childcare during nursery hours. Candidates should have experience with toddlers and hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate. The expected start date is 23rd February 2026, offering a salary of £38,000 gross per annum. Applications are welcomed via email.
We are delighted to be assisting a warm and dedicated single mother in Highgate who is seeking a nurturing and organised nanny‑housekeeper to support her and her 2.5‑year‑old son. This is a lovely, long‑term role offering 38–40 hours per week, with a start date ideally from 23rd February 2026 or early March.
From March, the little boy will begin nursery and is expected to attend at least half days from Monday to Thursday. During nursery hours, the role will focus on supporting the smooth running of the household. Responsibilities will include grocery shopping, preparing well‑balanced and nutritious meals, laundry and ironing, washing dishes, and general household duties. No deep cleaning is required. The family is looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, calm, and well‑run home environment.
Outside of nursery hours, the nanny will take full responsibility for care, including nursery drop‑offs and pick‑ups (just a 15‑minute walk from the home), preparing homemade meals, engaging him in creative and stimulating play, and ensuring he feels safe, secure, and happy. The nanny will also care for him when he is unwell and unable to attend nursery, and will maintain open, clear communication with mum regarding all aspects of his wellbeing and development.
A proactive candidate who shows initiative and is a good observer of children’s needs will be highly valued. Someone who genuinely enjoys working with toddlers and takes pride in their role will thrive in this position.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a welcoming home and play an important role in supporting both a busy mum and her young son during an exciting new stage of nursery life. We look forward to introducing suitable candidates.
All roles with children and the vulnerable require an up‑to‑date enhanced eDBS certificate registered on the update service, a 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate, and a minimum of two professional referees. One reference must be your current or last employer and both must be immediately contactable. Appropriate personal insurance is also recommended.
We support the principle of Equality and Diversity in employment wholeheartedly and oppose all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
