JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Director, Supply Chain Modernization.

The Director will lead OPG’s enterprise-wider ERP implementation for Supply Chain, driving digital modernization and process transformation. Responsible for the end-to-end project- including planning, process re-engineering, integration, change management, and delivery. This role ensures supply chain excellence and alignment with OPG’s strategic vision. While based in Supply Chain, the Director will influence enterprise-wide processes, deliver the program on time and within budget, and champion ongoing innovation and operational efficiency.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide strategic leadership for the entire ERP project lifecycle, from initial vision and business case development through detailed planning, process re-engineering, system integration, deployment, stabilization, and closure.
  • Collaborate with technology architecture peers and systems integrators to develop, communicate, and execute a detailed digital roadmap to optimize Supply Chain’s operating model—including people, processes, data, technology, and organizational structure -delivering measurable business value and enhanced decision-making capabilities.
  • Oversee comprehensive process re‑engineering initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and redesigning functional and cross‑functional workflows to maximize the benefits of the entire digital ecosystem, including ERP technologies.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams—including Supply Chain, Digital Technology & Solutions, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Enterprise Projects—to ensure alignment, engagement, and successful adoption of the new Supply Chain operating model and ERP.
  • Co‑lead all aspects of technology selections, integration, data migration, user acceptance testing, and go‑live support, along with the technology integration teams, ensuring minimal disruption and a seamless transition.
  • Champion robust change management strategies and clear communication plans that foster buy‑in, manage expectations, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive performance excellence by setting benchmarks, tracking key performance indicators, and leveraging industry best practices to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Develop and implement training programs and forums to ensure all stakeholders—across Supply Chain and related functions—are equipped to utilize the new system effectively.
  • Promote fiscal responsibility, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines, and that procurement and supplier onboarding processes support transformation objectives.
  • Maintain strong governance and compliance with regulatory and industry requirements throughout all phases of the ERP program. Act as the principal liaison between Supply Chain and other key business units, advocating for Modernization initiatives and ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Support continuous benchmarking and improvement efforts to maintain OPG’s competitive advantage and ensure the organization evolves in tandem with global Supply Chain best practices. Provide proactive advice and strategic guidance to executive leadership regarding supply chain risks, opportunities, and future digital capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in business process transformation, specifically in supply chain management or manufacturing operations within large, complex organizations, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated persuasive leadership and exceptional communication skills across all levels of the organization, with a track record of successfully leading cross‑functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or a specialized Master’s in Supply Chain or Operations Management) would be an asset.

The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.

OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment. If you require accommodation during the selection process, please contact AODA@opg.com

What makes a career at OPG different?

With operations across Ontario, OPG is one of the most diverse power producers in North America. As the largest generator in Ontario, we meet approximately 50% of the province’s electricity needs, largely from low‑carbon sources like nuclear and hydro.

As we work to achieve our vision of Electrifying life in one generation, OPG and our family of companies are also helping advance the development of new low‑carbon technologies such as Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), refurbishment projects, and electrification initiatives to help power the growing demands of a growing economy. Join OPG and make history.

Please submit your application online at https://jobs.opg.com/. OPG thanks all those who apply; however, only candidates considered for an interview will be contacted.

OPG may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of the applicant screening process. However, applications will also be reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union‑represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full‑time management roles includes pay‑for‑performance programs for annual and medium time periods. Maintaining a high‑performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.

OPG is committed to employment equity. As such, we encourage applicants from equity‑seeking communities (Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and women). We strongly believe that alleviating the under‑representation of equity‑seeking individuals will create a stronger OPG team and allow us to better serve the needs of our diverse communities.

In order to fulfill the above‑mentioned purpose, priority in hiring may be given to qualified persons who self‑identify as a member of equity‑seeking groups as identified in the application process. This initiative constitutes a special program under the Human Rights Code/Canadian Human Rights Act.
