Trade Journeyman Mechanic

Emil Anderson Maintenance currently has a position available for a Trade Journeyman Mechanic for its shop in Rosedale, BC. The Journeyman Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction equipment; including loaders, dozers, excavators, dump trucks, etc.

Responsibilities:

1. Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear;
2. Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance;
3. Replace and/or replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts;
4. Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction;
5. Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports;
6. Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

1. Comfortable working with and around machinery;
2. Ability to operate hand and power tools in a safe manner;
3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees and supervisors;
4. Ability to work in a team-focused environment with a positive attitude;
5. Natural ability to solve problems;
6. Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills in the trade;
7. Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced environment;
8. Must have a valid BC driver’s license with air endorsement and a clean abstract;
9. Previous experience working as a Service Technician or other related experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset;
10. Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is considered an asset;
11. Commercial vehicle inspection ticket (preferred);
12. Class 1-3 Driver's License (preferred).

This position is based in Rosedale, BC, and local candidates are preferred.
