About The Team:

This role is within the Core Engineering group, a cornerstone of Scispot.com's mission to digitize life science operations. Our team focuses on developing scalable, robust software solutions that enhance productivity and collaboration within the life sciences community. Working in a fully remote environment, our engineers collaborate closely with the designers, founders, sales & marketing, and customer success teams to ensure our platform meets the dynamic needs of our users. The team is currently engaged in enhancing the platform's core functionalities with Generative AI experiences. This role, in particular, will be key in developing high-performance, intuitive user interfaces that cater to all our stakeholders, from researchers to lab managers.

Responsibilities:

About the Job:

1. Utilize your software engineering expertise to develop interactive, user-friendly interfaces that simplify complex workflows in life science research and development.
2. Work alongside software engineers and product managers to deeply understand the needs of our customers and translate product design decisions into functional UI/UX.
3. Ensure the optimization of our frontend code for performance, scalability, accessibility, and compatibility across devices.

Skills/Experience You Have:

1. At least 2 years of professional frontend development experience.
2. Advanced knowledge of React and Javascript, with the ability to mentor team members on its best practices.
3. Proficient in TypeScript, with a solid understanding of ES6 concepts.
4. Skilled in HTML5 and CSS3, applying responsive design principles effectively.
5. Experienced in writing unit tests with tools like the React Testing Library.
6. A strong grasp of network protocols, RESTful APIs, and browser compatibility issues.
7. An understanding of UX/UI design principles and the ability to contribute to discussions on feature design with Product and Design teams.
8. Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.

Skills/Experience Preferred:

1. A background in functional programming paradigms and their application in JavaScript data structures.
2. Experience with version control tools like Github.
3. Exceptional communication skills suited for an asynchronous, fully remote working environment.
4. A commitment to applying best practices and delivering high-quality code in your work.
